line: BREAK
Select object: Select the objects or specify the first break point (1) on an object
The displayed prompts depend on the way in which the object is selected. If the object is selected by using the pointing device, the program will select the object and treat the selection point as the first break point. At the next prompt it is possible to continue by specifying the second point or substituting the first point.
Specify second break point or [First point]: Specify the second break point (2) or enter f Specify the second break point (2) or enter F
Second break point
It specifies the second point to use for breaking the object.
First point
It substitutes the original first point with the new specified point.
Specify first break point:
Specify second break point:
The portion of the object between the two specified points will be erased. If the second point is not on the object, the nearest point on the object is selected; therefore, to break off one end of a line, arc or polyline, specify the second point beyond the end to be removed.
Lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines and several other object types can be split into two objects or have one end removed.
The program converts the ellipse in an elliptical arc, removing counterclockwise a portion of ellipse from the first to the second point.
