It highlights the cursor's movement on object extensions.

 Snap toolbar: 

  Menu : ToolsSnapsObject snap Extension

 Command line: EXTE

Enable/Disable SNAP EXTENSION on the natural extension of linear and curved open objects.

Stop with the mouse on the object the extension of which (Blue line in the illustration) is to be intercepted, until the extension symbol will appear. Then move over the extreme to be extended (see figure):
