Creating
single-line text
|
||||||||||||||
|
To create
one or more lines of text (ending each line when by pressing ENTER), use the Draw
Text...
Single-line
text
menu item. Each
text line is an independent object that can be relocated, reformatted or otherwise
modified.
When single-line text is created, a text style and a set alignment are assigned to it. The text style sets the default characteristics of the text object. The alignment determines which part of the text character aligns with the point of insertion.
When text is created, the current style is assigned to it.
It is also possible to compress single-line text to fit between specified points. This option stretches or squeezes the text to fill the selected space.
It is possible to have single-line text
following the path of lines, arcs, polylines, circles, ellipses, elliptical
arcs and other objects. Use Draw
Text...
Curved
Text on
an object.
With
this procedure the text will follow the shape of the associated object. At this stage
it is also possible to cancel the object: the text will maintain the
given shape.
While creating text, it is possible to align it, justifying it with one of the alignment options shown in the following illustrations. The default setting is alignment to the left. To left-align text, do not enter an option at the Justify prompt.
