Select cutting objects

Use the selected objects to define the required  trimming boundaries

Object to trim

Specify the object to trim. Press ENTER to end the command.

Select object pressing and holding Shift to extend

It extends the objects to the nearest boundary instead of trimming them.This option gives an easy method to alternate trimming and extending operations.

Fence

It selects all objects that cross the selection fence.  Selection fence The Fence represents a series of temporary line segments specified by two or more interception points. The Fence selection does not form a closed loop.

Specify first fence point: Specify the starting point of the selection fence

Specify next fence point or [Undo] or Enter to confirm: Specify next fence point or enter  U

Specify next fence point or [Undo] or Enter to confirm: Specify next fence point, enter   U or press ENTER

Edge

It extends the objects to an other object's extrapolated edge or only to an object that really intersects it.

Example

Selecting a cutting edge and an object to extend:

Enter an implied edge extension mode [Extend/No extend] < current>: Enter an option or press ENTER

Extend

It extends the cutting edge along its natural path to intersect an other object or relative edge.
In this case the extension (of the vertical trimming object) is intersected, thus there is extension

No extend

It specifies that the object is trimmed only at a cutting edge that intersects it.
In this case there is not any real intersection, neither any extension.

Undo

It reverses the most recent modification made by TRIM.
