It is possible to explode a compound object such as a polyline, a region, a hatch line or a block reference to convert it in single elements. For example, the explosion of a polyline will convert it into simple lines and arcs. The explosion of a block reference will replace it with copies of the objects that compose the block.
The exploding function is hierarchic, meaning that it subdivides one complex element in other inferior elements (Region Polylines  Arcs and lines).

Exploding regions

When a region is exploded, it results in the creation of a polyline (marking the external perimeter), an other series of polylines (marking the perimeter of each island) and arcs for the eventually applied internal hatching.

Exploding polylines

When a polyline is exploded, lines and arcs are created. If you explode a block that contains a polyline, the polyline has to be separately exploded.

Exploding hatch lines

When a hatch line is exploded, it results in a series of arcs and lines which display the various small segments that composed it..
It this manner it is possible, for example, to export in different formats (e.g. DXF) complex linetypes (2D hatch lines or hatch lines with symbols) with a degree of accuracy.

Exploding text

When a text is exploded, it results in a series regions.

Exploding block references

If a block with attributes is exploded, the attribute values are lost, leaving only the attribute definitions. The colors and linetypes of objects in exploded block references can change.

Objects hierarchy

Here is a list of the hierarchic order of explosion of complex elements (or elements with hatch lines), Simple elements and elements with hatch lines are exploded in small segments of arcs and lines.
