There are several methods for adjusting the lengths of existing objects (both symmetrically and asymmetrically) in comparison to other objects.

• Trimming or extending objects
  It is possible to shorten or lengthen objects to meet the edges of other objects.
• Resizing or reshaping objects
  It is possible to resize objects to elongate them or shorten them in only one direction; or to make them proportionally larger or smaller.
• Approximating polylines
  It is possible to approximate a polyline in different ways.
• Splitting regions
  It is possible to split a region in more parts.
• Adding lightening holes to regions
  It is possible to add lightening holes of different types to a region.
