It is possible to use the linetypes to easily distinguish the various single objects and to improve the appearance of the drawing.

A linetype consists of a recurring pattern of dashes, dots and blank spaces, in form of a line or a curve. It is possible to assign to an object a linetype using the layers (by layer) or specifying the linetype, independently from the layer on which it is.

Besides selecting a linetype, it is possible to set its scale to control the size of its dashes, dots and blank spaces, moreover to create customized linetypes.
