Laminated cut

Laminated cut

You can get this dialog box pressing the 'Cut laminated parts'  link located in the Startup dialog

Here you can cut Laminated Parts from scratch. If you press 'Cut laminated parts' link the following dialog will appear:

Kerf

You can specify here if you want to apply the kerf, to get parts permorming exactly th Thickness you set.

Foam block size

You specify here the DX = Length and DY = Height of the Foam block

Offset of Foam block

You specify how far from the coordinates origin you wan to place the bottom-left corner of the Foam Block

Home position referred to the Foam block

You can specify if the hot wire at the beginning of the cutting job will be placed at the Left or right side of the Foam block.
You can also force the hot wire to come back following a safe path to the original side, when the cutting job is finished.

Horizontal cuts

Refer to this frame if you are going to cut Horizontal laminated parts.
Apply Horizontal cuts: you can enable or not the horizontal cutting
Parts thickness: value = the final thickness of the horizontal parts
Limits the Cuts to only  value. If you apply this you will limit the max number of parts to cut. If not enabled all the height of the Foam block will be used
Cut away First, thickness = value. If the roof of the Foam Block is rough, you can cut away the first part using a different thickness.
Safe distance from ground: value. You can specify this value to avoid the hot wire will go too near the cutting table
Apply Horizontal cuts as first. If you apply both Horizontal and Vertical cuts, this cutting series will be applied as first.

Vertical cuts

Refer to this frame if you are going to cut Vertical laminated parts.
Apply Vertical cuts: you can enable or not the vertical cutting
Parts thickness: value = the final thickness of the vertical parts
Limits the Cuts to only  value. If you apply this you will limit the max number of parts to cut. If not enabled all the lenght of the Foam block will be used
Cut away First, thickness = value. If the side of the Foam Block is rough, you can cut away the first part using a different thickness.
Safe distance from ground: value. You can specify this value to avoid the hot wire will go too near the cutting table
Apply Vertical cuts as first. If you apply both Horizontal and Vertical cuts, this cutting series will be applied as first.
Avoid X movements inside Foam block. Enabling this option the hot wire will go down and up for each cut, avoiding to move inside the foam block after a part is cut

Safe distance from block sides: value. The safe distance from the Foam block sides applied for  out of Foam fast movements

In the bottom part you can see some buttons, to create, customize and export the cutting Path:
