How to create a new tapered part Pro version only
Creating a new tapered part is not difficoult, but you must follow the listed steps.
To create/cut a new Tapered part you can start from 2 different cases:
You already have 2 files with the left and right sides of the tapered part you are going to create
Click the 'Cut a new Tapered Part' link of the Startup dialog if you already have the 2 vectorial (Dxf, Dwg, Dc1, Hpgl, Plt) or raster (Gif, Jpeg, Bmp, Png, Tif, Tga, Pcx) files including the drawing/image of the 2 sides of the tapered part you want to create/cut. If enabled you will see the 'Filter and optionally scale elements' dialog if you select a vectorial file, or the 'AutoTrace elements' dialog if you select a raster file. Finally you will se the 'Tapered Part management' dialog where you can create the right cutting path. You can also see this page to have more info about the 'Available file formats'.
You must start from scratch, as you don't have them
Some suggestions:
In some case just a single side can be enough. You can select just one region, it will be used both for Left and Right side in the tapered Part management dialog. You can then Rotate, Scale and Move them in that dialog
Selecting 2 regions, when you use the 'Tapered
Parts - Create a new tapered Part' menu, you will be prompted to select if you want
keep the original offset between the regions or not. If your choice is NOT to
keep it, they will be arranged to keep them overimposing. Of course you can
then move them.
Take a look at tapered Part
management dialog to have more info about Synchro points.
